AJ WARE
Artistic Director

AJ Ware (Artistic Director) is a founding member and has been involved in big and/or small ways in each of Jackalope's productions. She is a proud native Texan (proud enough to get the state bird tattooed on her body, much to the chagrin of her poor mother) and was a company member at Houston's Infernal Bridegroom Productions for six years. She moved to Chicago to receive a BA in directing from Columbia College where she was also the department's Marketing Assistant and the recipient of the Sarah Siddons Award. She has made dozens of plays that she loved very much, including Hotel Play, Full Circle, and the original rock opera, Speeding Motorcycle,
based on the life and work of Daniel Johnston (all at IBP), and acting in Slaughter City, conceiving and directing Under Construction, and producing the annual Living Newspapers Festival remain Jackalope faves. AJ is a big fan of macaroni and cheese and cute things on the internet, and if she had to choose she'd pick flying over invisibility.
